Guild Trade

Players above level 40 can apply to become a trader for their Guild, and so gain access to the trade quest. Travel Trading can not only increase a Guild’s funds, but can also provide a player with personal profit in the form of gold, experience, and Guild contribution points. For even greater profits, players should consider Travel Trading on Saturday, when all profits are significantly increased.

Getting Started

To start on the Travel Trading quest, players elected as ‘Traders’ for their Guild must first find and speak to Finance Officer Chien [147, 55] in their Guild city. He can be found by locating ‘Finance’ on the scene map. Finance Officer Chien will give a player the option to ‘Get banknote’.

If Chien hasn’t exceeded the maximum daily Guild banknote allowance (dictated by the Guild level) you will be issued with banknotes to take on your quest.

As soon as you are issued with banknotes you will enter ‘Transporting Mode’. From here on, you may not use your mount, you may not peddle, and you may not use any teleport function to help you on your way.

Your next task is to speak with Chien again to spend your banknotes on items to sell to your Guild’s trade partners. Select ‘Merchant Shop’ to see the goods available for purchase. The amount you can spend is dictated by the amount of banknotes you were given, and this is directly related to your level.

You will notice that item prices fluctuate regularly. Remember, a good trader will always buy products when they are at their cheapest, and then sell them again at their highest!

Merchant Shop

You may now travel to your Guild’s trade partners to sell your goods and (hopefully) accrue some profit. By travelling between traders your goal is increase the value of your banknotes and so make the Guild a profit.

You may accept the Travel Trading quest up to 8 times a day maximum.

Hint: Travel Trading is an efficient way of earning money. You can buy goods at a low price and sell them at a high price to make money. The profit a player can make is affected by level, experience, skills, time and the type of goods being traded.

Special Situations while Travel Trading

  • Banknotes cannot be discarded or traded.
  • If the trader dies in a PvP battle during a trade quest, the banknote will disappear and the quest will fail.
  • If the trader dies of PK in Travel Trading status, the status will be removed.
  • If the banknote a dead player held was in appreciation status, it will generate a fallen ‘overdue’ banknote and all the goods and the banknote of the trader will disappear. At the same time, there will be a notice on the guild channel, which shows the troublemaker’s guild name. All players can get the overdue banknote from the exact location where the trader died. You may exchange the overdue banknote with Officer Chien for items.

Salary

By contributing to the growth and development of your Guild, you may claim a salary from Finance Officer Chien [147, 55] at the cost of Guild contribution points. Players over level 40 may claim a salary as long as they complete Travel Trading more than twice in a week, and as long as they have been a member of the Guild for at least a week.
